Further lengthened version of the DC-9-30 entered service in March 1968. With a 2m longer fuselage, accommodation was up to 125 passengers. The -40 was fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines of between 64 and 71 kN. A total of 71 were produced. The DC94 is member of the DC-9 family of aircraft.
