Description

MOD St Athan is a large United Kingdom Ministry of Defence unit near the village of St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan, southern Wales.

Note that St Athan is in close proximity to Cardiff airport (EGFF) some 3nm to the east.

Climatology

Temperate Marine climate/Oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb). Moderately cool summer and comparatively warm winter with a temperature range of only 14°C. Prevailing south-westerly winds from the Atlantic Ocean.
