Asheville Regional Airport (IATA: AVL) is a Class C airport near Interstate 40 and Interstate 26 in the town of Fletcher, 14 km south of the city of Asheville, in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

Climatology

Humid “subtropical” climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) - characterized by hot, humid summers and cool winters. Significant amounts of precipitation occur in all seasons in most areas. Winter rainfall (and sometimes snowfall) is associated with large storms that the westerlies steer from west to east.
