Fort Myers stradles two climate classifications - humid “subtropical” climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) - characterized by hot, humid summers and cool winters and tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification Am) - monthly mean temperatures above 18°C in every month of the year and features wet and dry seasons. A tropical monsoon climate typically features less pronounced dry seasons than a tropical savanna climate and see less variance in temperatures during the course of the year. The driest month nearly always occurs at or soon after the "winter" solstice.
