Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA)
The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing scheduled international airlines based in the Asia Pacific region within time zones between GMT +5 and GMT +12. The AAPA secretariat is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
AAPA’s stated purpose “is to serve as a common forum for the articulation of views on matters and issues of common interest to the Asia Pacific aviation industry; to foster closer cooperation with other relevant stakeholders; and to encourage the successful evolution of the travel and tourism industry as a key contributor to economic, social and cultural development.”
Among its numerous committees and working groups, AAPA has a Technical Committee that focuses on technical and operations issues that impact AAPA member carriers. The Technical Committee oversees the work of the Engineering and Maintenance Working Group, the Flight Operations and Safety Working Group and the Materials Management Working Group. Among the association’s other working groups are a Cabin Safety Working Group, a Crisis Management working Group, and an Emergency Response Planning Working Group.
