Definition

This technique is frequently used to assess the structural integrity of both airframe and engine components. Fatigue damage is usually evidenced by cracking which can be seen by NDT techniques including ultrasound, electrical eddy currents, optics and X-ray scattering or absorption.

Also known as Non Destructive Inspection (NDI).
