Advection Fog - Formation

Advection fog occurs when a warm, moist, air mass flows across a colder surface. The air mass is cooled from below by the colder surface and, if the temperature of the air mass is reduced to the dew point, then fog forms. This phenomenon is commonplace in the Canadian Arctic.
