International airport serving the communities surrounding the Eyjafjörður in northern Iceland. Mostly used by domestic flights, there are some international flights in the summer months. Akureyri may be nominated as a diversion for smaller aircraft flying into either Keflavik or Reykjavik in the event that both are unavailable.
