Karlene Petitt
An experienced pilot and author, Capt Karlene Petitt has experience flying 7 different types of large commercial jets working for 8 different airlines. She has actively supported EAC Safety Forums and the SKYclip safety promotion programme through SKYbrary.
Michael Gillen
Dr. Michael Gillen is a Captain and Line Check Airman on the B737 with United Airlines. He has also held positions at United Airlines as Manager of Command Development Programs; Head of New Hire Pilot Hiring; Head of Captain Upgrade and CRM programs. Michael holds type ratings in the A320, B737, and B777. He served as the head instructor pilot in the B777 and B737. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Science at the University of North Dakota with a dissertation focusing on startle effect and mitigation techniques. Michael has a Masters of Science degree in Human Factors from the University of North Dakota.
Mike Edwards
Now an established consultant in ATM Safety, Mike Edwards was Head of Safety Investigation at NATS (the UK Air Navigation Service Provider) for 7 years and prior to that he was Head of Investigation at London ACC. He had been an ATCO at Edinburgh and Heathrow before becoming the manager of all student controllers and then a Supervisor at London Terminal Control. He holds a PPL with Group B rating.
Bengt Collin
Bengt Collin formerly worked at EUROCONTROL HQ as a Senior Expert involved in operational ATC safety activities. Bengt has a long background as Tower and Approach controller at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, Sweden.
Dai Whittingham
Air Commodore Dai Whittingham is Chief Executive Officer of the UK Flight Safety Committee and a member of the FSF European Advisory Committee.
Ed Pooley
Captain Ed Pooley is an Air Operations Safety Adviser with over 30 years of experience as an airline pilot including significant periods as a Check/Training Captain and as an Accident/Incident Investigator. He was Head of Safety Oversight for a large, short-haul airline operation for over 10 years where his team was responsible for independent monitoring of all aspects of operational safety.
