Former flight/cabin crew, dispatcher, lead auditor, consultant, trainer, compliance monitoring/safety manager, with experience in both manned and unmanned aviation at competent authority, qualified entity, and service provider levels. Current Safety and Regulatory Affairs Manager at IBAC, actively supporting the ICAO Safety Management Panel as Rapporteur of the SRM Working Group and as leader of various task teams related to systems thinking, resilience, learning from all operations, risk management methodologies, etc. Still greatly enjoys hanging out ‘at the sharp end’ and flying gliders from time to time!

Sven Grassmueck is an airline pilot with 15 years of experience on short- and long-haul flights. Since 2016 he has dedicated himself to pushing flight safety at regional and international level. Currently, he is the vice-chairman of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations´ (IFALPA) Airport Ground Environment Working Group (AGE). Being a vice-chairman for IFALPA he is part of several ICAO working groups and a facilitator for IFALPA´s Runway Safety Team Course. Besides others Mr Grassmueck is actively engaged in training and charting of EMAS-installations, the use of Stopbars 24/7, Firemen-to-flightcrew Emergency Frequencies and Runway Safety Teams. This international work eventually led him to Skybrary.
